Greetings, readers! Now that we’ve all (hopefully) made it to the other side of our Thanksgiving food comas and hangovers, we find ourselves officially in *the winter holiday season*. And, by that, I mean cookie season, Happy Hanukkah season, ‘festive attire’ (or festive masks cause #2021) season, decking-the-halls season, Spotify Wrapped season, and so on and so forth.
(To the Scrooge types, don’t worry - only 23 days until you can be annoyed by something else i.e. New Year’s Eve.)
This week, we’re coming in hot with a bunch of quick links, surprises, and delights, not only from myself and Meg but a few other friends-turned-contributors as well.
So, now, let’s get ready to jingle bell rock - or rap - ourselves around the DM Christmas tree, shall we?
From Meg
Currently:
Reading: Hunter Harris’s weekly take on Succession Power Rankings, and this beautiful Lady Bird screenplay
Excited about: my D.S. and Durga Portable Christmas Tree candle (I know I said I was working on a signature household scent but come on, I'm only human). P.S. this could make a fun stocking stuffer.
Listening to: The Sounds like a Cult podcast, a fun take on the everyday things we all follow that may or may not be a cult (Soulcycle, celebrity megachurches, astrology, and more)
Cooking: better Christmas fettucine with Jacobsen Salt's salt discs optimized for salting pasta water!
Coveting: LOVE/JEALOUS of this gift idea for those of you in NYC and LA: Flamingo Estate will upcycle your Christmas tree into a diffused scent to use after the holiday season has ended. They'll even pick up your tree for you!
Wanting to buy: I just got back from a beautiful 1.5 weeks in Maui and now I'm buying pineapples for everyone I know. Good day.
From Devon
Currently:
Hoping: that this sparkling sbagliato punch makes an appearance at a holiday party, bonus points if made this American-made aperitivo
Mesmerized by: TIME’s Photos of the Year and the Canning the Sunset dyed sand art project
No longer out-of-the-loop with: watching Sex Education (thanks, Ellie), listening to What a Day (thanks, Z), and playing this very funny game
Reminding you: that we are in the thick of the ever-fleeting persimmon season! If you’re not (yet) as obsessed with the fruit as I am, brush up on your ‘simmon facts - and then make this recipe pronto.
Wishlisting: a chunky blue sweater, indigo stroke mugs from Miller Lane, a sapphire ring by Maggie, and my fave sunglasses in navy (okay, yes, I like blue, okay?)

Reading: For espionage fans, Silverview by John le Carre. And for true espionage fans, Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel's Targeted Assassinations. (To the NSA agent reading this, what’s up!)
Addicted to: Fly by Jing’s Sichuan Chili Crisp. I put this sh*t on everything. Eggs? No brainer. Pizza? Hell ya. Fish? Say no more fam.
Loving: This body oil by Nécessaire. It’s fragrance-free and my skin drinks it up like me with a martini on a Friday night.
Coveting: Every *objet* from Rosemary Home. More specifically these parrot bookends, this jewelry case, and these ever-practical banana salt and pepper shakers.
Excited about: The opening of this new neighborhood restaurant, The Commerce Inn. It kind of feels like you’re in colonial Gettysburg or might stand trial for being a w
