Rarely do I enjoy the same joke as a 12-year-old boy, and yet here we are at Issue Sixty-Nine. 😈
In other news, you know when someone asks what you did this weekend and you’re like oh you know being super busy and important but really…
Don’t pretend you don’t! Let us never again speak of the shower tribute band concert marathon I have had all week after Emma won best actress last Sunday. Isn’t it nice when people get the things they deserve? Secondhand joy is a drug!
Other things that give me joy? Kacey’s new album, my yoga instructor Katie who never fails to play Don’t Blame Me at. every. single. class (The pushups I am capable of during this song! Yet another drug!), and turtlenecks because I have a fantastic neck that should be celebrated. Here’s to you Diane Keaton, my queen.
One more for Emma. For good measure.

Reading:
An interesting article about the connection and potential(I said it) of Ozempic and addiction
The second Fourth Wing book (Iron Flame, which I liked much better)
This Amex 2024 Travel Trends Report (Trend! Three! It me.)Â
Watching:
The Gentleman (IMHO, one of the best TV shows that Netflix has put out in a while)
The Idea of You trailer (Also read the book! A fun beach read. Further hot take- the casting of the lead male is unsatisfactory. I demand nothing less than Harry Styles with/without the earring.)
Speaking of the beach: Headed to Florida on Wednesday, and bought this red number that several more much more famous substackers than myself rave about, and a good punchy linen beach shirt. On that note, I dare you to find me a more interesting designer than The Fashion Brand Company. The Cruella de Ville of this outfit, c'est parfait!
In the meantime, take me back to France: to this dreamy new hotel opening this spring. I’ll wear my Kamperett dress, and casually sip a prohibitively expensive glass of champagne as I lay leisurely on that rich canapé. Am I a painting? Perhaps.
From Devon
Got my eye on: this for weddings, a skirt I’d 10000% need to Scotchgard before I put it on, and the perfect jacket to wear on April 25th.
Eating: scrambled eggs made in my new favorite way, with a few dashes of this // Goodles, which Katie tipped me off to (now that I’m hooked, I can see myself eating a box each week) // and the rarest of seasonal delicacies.
Deliberating: who must I order these embroidered bandanas for (other than me). Maggie’s mom got her the cutest one with a stitched cowboy boot for her western-themed baby shower yesterday, and I’m now obsessed from afar. Also, I’m smitten with these.
Speaking of: Maggie’s baby shower, I used food coloring in ‘Denim’ (!) from a new-to-me company to make cookies that matched the Canadian tuxedo dress code - and, as a result, I am swearing off basic grocery-store-bought food dye. The range of hues is amazing - Lauren would be proud - and I highly recommend trying them out for your own future frosting experiments.
Plus, for all the fellow baking nerds out there, the rest of their products are so fun.
Eagerly awaiting: Palm Royale to debut this Wednesday. If the trailer is as indicative of the show as it looks, I’m already *here* for the fashion, the duhrrahhmaa, and the A+ cast (Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, Josh Lucas - who I’ve loved since Sweet Home Alabama - and RICKY MARTIN to name a few. Need I say more?).
Curious as to: who might like to sponsor a trip to this gorgeous, gorgeous place so I can sit on the beach (under an umbrella, with a hat and SPF 50), finally finish a book, and drink margaritas. Plus, it’d give me an excuse very valid reason to buy this.
Dancing to: Durand Jones & The Indications (play this for an instant mood lifter, and this for a vibe set) and Ariana Grande’s latest (big fan of ‘supernatural’ and ‘bye’). Also, +1 to streaming Kacey on repeat.
