By the time this is in your inbox, the missing Titanic submarine will either be found or… not found and it’s truly all I can think about.
First of all, this movie writes itself. Second of all, the parallels to the actual Titanic sinking are fascinating (a stubborn captain going down with the ship, the warnings that more testing needed to be done, the discussion of class and wealth, and just because you can, should you?) My other meanderings are a bit more morbid and not in line with the word goo we bring you at The DM, but in case you’re wondering yes, I will be watching the Titanic this weekend (parts 1 and 2) and yes, I’ve been listening to this song on repeat.
Anyway, happy DM Friday, it’s been a minute and we missed your pretty faces. Pour one out for Jack, the submarine, and my productivity. All are out to sea.
Editor’s note (aka Devon, adding her section, late Thursday night): The DM is not alone in our listening choices during these submarine times.

Coveting: As I’ve said before, to know me is to know that I eat everything with a spoon, and to really know me is to know that my favorite food is pudding, specifically Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding. This past week, Boy Smells Candles and Magnolia Bakery launched a limited-edition banana pudding candle that I simply need to have. Literally, NEED. Even if it smells weird, doesn’t matter, I consider it close family.
Making: Ok, not to make this a banana-themed week but ever since I got home from Buenos Aires, land of banana bread, I have been saving BB recipes to my Instagram collections like it’s my actual job. I have told myself there must come an end to how many loaves I have consumed over the past month but really it’s only a matter of time before I cave and make this guy. Reading: This article on the woman who basically pioneered the minimalist neutral-colored home aesthetics movement, EyeSwoon’s Athena Calderone. If this bish started a cult, I would join. TLDR: She bought her now Instafamous house for 4mil, did 2.5mil in (now famous) renovations and just sold for a cool 12 mil a couple of months ago because she was… bored with the movement she essentially created. Ah, creativity! You fickle, problematic queen. I will leave you with this iconic line:
“It’s time for something new,” Ms. Calderone said as she gave a walking tour of her new home, a 6.5 million wood-paneled TriBeCa apartment with 13-foot coffered ceilings, three fireplaces and a walk-in safe.
Taking selfies in front of: Bethenny Frankel’s massive engagement ring. Gosh, I love a blatant rich person. Bless this skinny bitch and her planet-sized ring that I can see my pores in.
Wearing: these around my living room. I don’t like hiking, but I could go on a long leisurely walk in these bois.

Listening to: my summer playlist. Admittedly, this is more a somewhat random compilation of songs I’m liking (aka singing in the car and dancing along to at home, alone) at the moment rather than a set list giving a ~*perfectly curated summer vibe*~. That said, it does pair quite perfectly with a nice little sunny morning stroll with an espresso tonic in hand, or perhaps a frozen mango margarita on your patio.
Nerding out on: colors! Real big shocker to anyone who knows me, I’m sure.
Part One: I’ve jumped on the making-bracelets-for-the-Taylor-Swift-concert bandwagon, and have surprisingly really enjoyed this newfound “hobby” of mine, mostly for the part where I pick the bead color scheme. Helping me on this ‘pick a color, any color’ journey has been a color specialist (my new dream job?) whom I’ve followed on Instagram for years. I even got really wild and bought one of her books.
Part Deux: I also recently came across a book about colorstrology and it’s been fascinating to see how people’s birthdays, colors, traits, etc. etc. match up - or don’t. My birthday color is “High Risk Red” - and once I got over a bit of shock around the name (I mean —> ⛔️❌🆘), I am leaning in and am getting real close to using it as an excuse to buy this dress. (If you want to know your color, lmk and I’ll send it to you!)
Wearing nonstop: these flared high-waist jeans, which I conveniently found and fell in love with right before Denver’s summer temps jumped up into the 90s (when it’s not storming or hailing the size of golf balls, that is). However, paired with the right tank, I’m planning to soldier through a sweaty summer in the name of fas-hun.
P.S. speaking of fas-hun, I was v into the *lewks of the stars* from Fashion Week in Milan. That’s all.
Lol-ing at: Denise the Heaven Receptionist and Somebody, Somewhere.
Stealing: this summer mood board.
Making: tried and true recipes like this whatever-fruit-you’ve-got galette, a whole lemon vinaigrette, and pasta salads.
