Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by your Instagram algorithm throwing down mad swimsuit advertising pre-vacation thus sending you into a relevancy spiral about your own wardrobe and transcendently, your overall personal brand/identity? Just me? Cool.
Anyway, it is my birthday week (thank you), Devon spent last week in the Midwest, and I spent more time than necessary trying to fit mother-in-law jokes into my professional writing pieces all of which my boss crossed out with comments like, ‘not relevant.’ Just trying to spice things up Amy, but fine.
This rogue Tuesday DM is best served with Billie Eilish (but not the obvious stuff), eating almond butter straight from the jar, and wearing white whenever we want because that Memorial Day rule is dead.

Wristy business
Lately, I have been super into friendship bracelets, sans the platonic codependent vibes of a BFF. Not to go too far down that rabbit hole, but as you get older I think it’s good to have friends that fit for certain seasons (Who could forget the famous errand friend?) as opposed to one friend who fits EVERYTHING (except yourself. You should always be your own best friend forever).
Back to bracelets, the wrist is having a moment and the best part is that you can DIY bracelets on the cheap (or not) if that’s your jam or you can buy them outright, like muah.
Why is this so satisfying?

Sound on for max pleasure.
A fun party trick
Devon’s phrase, repurposed and repackaged under Meg branding. Here’s a fun conversation to have at your next dinner party. If you were typecast, what character would you play? And a follow-up question, what character do you want to play? Cast everyone at your party, name it. Send it to me. Let’s make a movie.
Three things I am bringing to Spain:
A swimsuit cover that embraces the wrinkled suitcase lewk
A pair of sunglasses that exude MALLORCA IN MAY
Emily Henderson’s NEW BOOK (Jk, this is a coffee table book and that would be crazy. But I love EH and must thus rec for your various surfaces)

Postcards from Ojai
A few weeks ago, despite being a Golden State native, I made my very first visit to Ojai in California for Daisey’s bachelorette. Now I, like everyone else, am low key obsessed with the place, for many reasons, but highlights included The Dutchess, a bakery/eatery that I legit went to every day I was in town // a tangerine margarita at The Ojai Valley Inn (recipe here) // and everything in this store and this tote bag that I bought (which may or may not have been a post-tangerine margarita purchase).
Giving you an earful
So, I don’t believe I’ve explicitly mentioned it here yet, but - a few months ago, at the ripe old age of 32, I got my ears pierced for the first time. Ever. Cue the ‘wait, really, omg, how?’ comments.
Anywho, since I can’t waste time lamenting years of good ear space wasted, I now am making up for it by FULLY being in the earring buying game (apologies to my budget!!). These are a new fave, thanks to Sam for these everyday beauties, and, these blue babies and these pearl stunners are on my wish list.
Hit me with your best shot
Speaking of party tricks and bachelorette parties - a few years ago, after Katie’s bach festivities, a few of us *tried* to make late-night Negroni shots a thing (a move we defs regretted the next morning, but, you know, YOLO). Well, where we might have failed to create a trend, others - i.e. the inspirationally chic Paris-based food stylist Rebekah Peppler whom I love to follow on Instagram - have succeeded with this collection of fancy digestif shots.
Though I’m not sure Rebekah ever took shitty tequila or vodka shots a la fraternity parties and the 901 Bar & Grill during her college days, her belief that “you're leaving people with a good taste in their mouths, but also the nostalgia and thrill of a shot” sounds whimsical and fun and the hostess in me is here for it.
Maximalism, ever heard of it?
Read the whole thing and then let it dictate the vibe for the rest of your week/year/life.
And, before you go, here’s what I’m currently:
Loving: this cute bag! In all the colors!
Eyeing: these beautiful tumblers (for adults) and these silicone tumblers (for kids and clumsy adults like me)
Intrigued by: this vegetarian homage to the infamous CPK Barbecue Chicken Pizza, though *actually making it* might be sacrilegious / a salad rendition that also might be sacrilegious, but it is bathing suit season so don’t @ me for that one
Grooving to: all that new new from Florence and The Black Keys
Just waiting for: someone to whisk me away to this French chateau
