This week’s been a wild one (emphasis on wild, we both were v Colorado and spent many days in the mountains) so we’ll keep this intro short, sweet, and wise.
My friend Emily gave me some great advice over a happy hour which I will now bestow to you:
Always remember the name of your waiter, you’ll get better service and you’ll make someone feel like a human.
If you have the time and the company, take the long way home.
Wear the hat you bought on vacation in your normal life (This wasn’t said out loud but I appreciate her style and how when you wear vacation accessories IRL, it makes everything more of an event)
Anyway, have a super cute weekend!

Making: That weird viral Molly Baz olive oil (olive) cake. I enlisted the help of Devon during the making of this cake and I will say it turned out exactly as expected however was also met with mixed reviews (see olives, in a cake). I personally thought it was delish.
Baking note: If I could do it again, I would not crush the olives, I would cut them into little pieces and then try to carmelize them with a mini creme brulee blowtorch. Mostly because I think it would take better with a crispy crust and a little bit so I could own a tiny adorable blowtorch.
Reading about: The commodification of Connecticut (lol). You’ve seen it and you probably own it at this point but it’s no secret that brands like Sporty and Rich, Rowing Blazers, and Hill House have helped (quietly) usher in the era of prep. While ‘going out tops’ threaten to make a comeback, city girls are moving to Delaware, starting a farm, and charging your dumb ass 50 dollars for their sweet, sweet honey (no, but really). I’m into it frankly, but that’s mostly because I’d rather spend 150 on a 100p cotton sweatshirt that I’ll live in than a cheap piece of polyester I wear while drinking a martini once. Priorities.
Coveting: pearl necklaces(!!!) This may have more to do with the above than I know or am comfortable to say but man, I am crushing hard on a pearl choker these days. Unfortunately, I also have champagne taste and so I am also crushing hard on this particular piece bc Sophie Buhai is the GOAT of jewelry. This one is cute too and 50p off, though still expensive. Also, is the thought process it will last forever and so it’s worth it OR does that not apply to trendy jewelry? Plz advise.
Want to see: The devil works hard, but the Barbie PR team works harder. Is there any girl in America (dare I say the Western world, but apparently as of recent controversy NOT the Eastern world) who doesn’t want to see the Barbie movie coming out in less than two weeks? Am I wearing more pink because it’s being fed to me via marketing? Is everything an algorithm? I will be at my brother’s rehearsal dinner on Thursday, July 20 so DON’T TELL ME ANYTHING except that you love it and it’s perfect until I have a proper chance to review.

Bookmarking to (eventually) make this summer: seven no-cooking, cold yet satisfying dinners, apparently THE drink of the season, and a massive ice cream sundae because I’m 34 going on 5.
Stocking up: not on necessities, natch - but, rather, some *big dip energy* cards to have on hand for birthdays, cute track shorts, and yet another red lipstick (did the ‘limited-edition perfect summer red’ descriptor on Instagram get me on that one? Yes, yes it did.).
Loving from afar: Ryan Reynold’s office and this restaurant
Still trying to wrap my head around: yes, you guessed it - Threads (and, yes, duh, I signed up, I feel like it was a required move as a marketer or whatever?) with this five-minute read, while also laughing - and laugh-crying (thanks for sending, Mack) - about it at the same time.
Daydreaming: settling into one of these rooms to finish the book that I’ve been failing to finish.
Listening to: this Greek artist (which means I’m now also daydreaming about going to Greece).
