Well, I made a massive faux pas writing about the Barbie movie two weeks ago when I obviously should have been writing about it for today. So I’ll just talk about it again. Ever so briefly! Promise. Who’s going? Who’s currently wearing pink? Who’s the biggest super fan of Margot Robbie ever? (Me. I am.) I can’t go tonight as discussed, but please go for me and have a literal ball.
On the subject of super fans, who went to Taylor in Denver last week? I was reflecting on how she might be more powerful than any politician or dictator in the world. If she were to declare war on anything or anyone, good freaking luck. We’re so blessed she focuses her abilities on friendship bracelets and power ballads rather than WW3.

On the hunt for: a design-forward but also powerful blender. Settling on THIS Zwilling for now but if you have a rec, please hit a sister up. It’s a very smoothie summer over here.
Can’t afford: the viral High Sport pants (BUT CAN afford the free High Sport playlist!)
Coveting: the perfect mid-western vintage-looking tablecloth, these placemats (do they match but not too much? This is the goal), and this recipe for a V,V exciting dinner party I’m hosting in a few weeks. Also, how fun is Ruined Table, a new substack that focuses on a different dinner party theme each month?
Reading: that Alexander Wang article (can he make a comeback? I guess it depends on just where you lie on cancel culture, forgiveness, and black-and-white thinking but regardless the writing is good bc Lauren Sherman)
Wearing: track shorts BABY. Cause Laurel Pantin said they’re making a comeback and she’s rarely wrong.
From Devon
Eating: easy-to-make, no-turning-on-the-oven watermelon feta salad for lunch/dinner/every meal.
Leaning into: side-character energy this summer? (question mark intended)
Daydreaming: that I’m floating in this pool with this tray sans the price tag. And, while we’re on a ‘money doesn’t matter’ tangent - I’d also like to have this on hand for pop-up dinner parties.
Debating: do I buy another color of my standby sunnies? (FYI, I only want your answer to be yes)
Drinking: sparkling ginger limeade. The moment it hit 98 degrees in Denver, it was time to bring back my beloved summer beverage. The recipe is below - make it a lot, thank me later.
Sparkling Ginger Limeade
You can keep it non-alcoholic or add booze (tequila is my choice), but whatever you do, definitely keep it spinning on repeat.
Make ginger simple syrup: slice a thumb-sized nob of ginger and simmer with two cups of sugar and two cups of water until dissolved. Let steep for two hours and then strain.
Juice a bag of limes (or, let’s be honest - buy lime juice from Whole Foods)
Fill a cup with ice, pour in the desired amount of lime juice and simple syrup to taste, stir, and then top with sparkling water.
Stir, sit back, and sip while listening to this in front of the AC.
